Creative Support Alternatives provides supported living services to people with developmental disabilities

Stefanie Harris

Stefanie Harris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Point Loma Nazarene University in Music Education in 2002. While seeking employment in a non-profit organization, Stefanie had the opportunity to work temporarily for United Cerebral Palsy’s (UCP) Adult Development Center.  She immediately felt energized and excited working with adults with developmental disabilities.  Upon completing her short-term job at UCP, she found a permanent job as an Instructor within the same organization. After only a few short months on the job, Stefanie knew that “this was the field for her”. During her two years working with UCP, Stefanie came to know several individuals assisted by Creative Support Alternatives.   She was attracted to the holistic, person-centered approach that forms the foundation of Supported Living, and was eager to be a part of it all.  Hired by Creative Support Alternatives in 2004 as a Coordinator, Stefanie continues to organize supports for adults served in the San Diego area.

Stefanie has a passion for supporting people with communication challenges and is a strong advocate for people who are often under-served by the service system.  She is an active member of the Homeownership Coalition of San Diego, California Supported Living Network, and a former member of the City Heights Area Planning Committee.  Stefanie is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Non-Profit Leadership and Management.
